Since 1963, Iota Phi Theta has become very vociferous with its statement through the development and perpetuation of scholarship, leadership, brotherhood, fidelity, and citizenship among men nationwide.  And with these basic principles in the hearts, minds, and souls of every Theta man, the Fraternity has since sought to overcome all obstacles in the way of its progress.  This perseverance and strength of character has proven to become its legacy.
                This legacy has guided the Fraternity in the pursuit of greatness, shining brightly in the midst of darkness.  It has allowed us to experience jubilation in our highs and to foresee vindication in the midst of our lows.   This legacy has also afforded us the opportunity to take membership in the National Pan Hellenic Council as of the fall of 1996 and thus, has provided us with the impetus to expand our base.  This legacy has kept us for our thirty-five (35)-plus years of existence and will continue to do into the new millennium. For as we push forth, we are building a tradition, not resting upon one!
